The quality of waters is no longer in doubt, Corsica holds the crown of the best protected french waters. The particularity of diving in Corsica lies in the diversity of its submarine bottoms, of the clearness of waters and a visibility which can reach 30 to 35 metres.

The mountainous and indented outline of Corsica can be found again under the water with monumental rocks which seem to have been laid dawn by a celestial hand.
The red coral, very much prized by the jewel trade, with its white polyps, still covers numerous indentations and remains an unforgettable sight.
At the head of these rocks, we often witness a ballet of "sarrs", "dentis", "anthias", sea breams...
Diving in Corsica also means the scree-covered bottoms, paradise of a fauna nested in its cavities, "mostelles", groupers, morays, congers, lobsters, spiny lobsters.

A Careful Teaching

Centered on the teaching and the knowledge of the environment, the 2 clubs are the "schooling" centers of NOUVELLES FRONTIERES.
Family structures, they are specialists in the initiation of adults and the diving for children. Our experience and our sites will delight the confirmed divers.

They are trained and supervised by a team of instructors under the management of
Jean-Pierre Malamas : PE Teacher, instructor of State 2nd degree, author of 4 books published at the Vigot Edition:
  • Learning to Dive, a child's play.
  • 1000 exercises in underwater swimming and in diving.
  • Passport for the blue space.
  • The Encyclopaedia of Diving.

Adapted Equipments

Each center can welcome 30 divers and has at its disposal :

  • 2 semirigid boats of 7 metres, equiped with powerful engines permitting to quickly go to the diving sites (V.H.F, material sounder of oxygen therapy) .
  • 1 inflating station of 40 m3/hour.
  • 30 complete equipments.
    All our diving suits are equiped with "stabilizing-jacket", with "direct system" and manometers which can be immersed.
 

Center of Diving of The Calanques

The hotel of the Calanques in which is based the Club of the Calanques, is situated on the road of the Sanguinaires Isles, at 9 km away from Ajaccio. The nearness of the Sanguinaires Isles offers a diversity of diving and an exceptional setting.

Center of Diving of The Grand Bleu

The center of diving of the Grand Bleu is situated in the gulf of Sagone, in Calcatoggio, at 30 Km of the north of Ajaccio, in the hotel / club of the Grand Bleu*** .

Other Activities in the 2 Centers

Each hotel has its own base of sailing (catamarans, sailing dinghys, windsurfing boards), and proposes excursions in whole Corsica from the 2 hotels.
Tennis, water-skiing, to go parascending and day-care center at the Grand Bleu.

 
 

The Gulf of Ajaccio has abyssal depths (more than 1000 metres down). The confirmed divers and the lovers of the depths will discover droopings from 30 to 40 metres covered with gorgonias on which a diversified fauna has took up residence.
The other divers are not forgotten, the plateau of the Tabernacle which includes the Sanguinaires isles proposes a multitude of divings in the zone of 20 metres where we are next to all the mediterranean pelagic fauna.
It is not unusual to meet several groupers of a good size as well as spiny lobsters and other crustaceans which have found a shelter in the unevenness.

Many particularly interesting divings, in the zone of the 20 metres, make of this center the privileged place for the beginners.

The "Banc Provençal" , a diving among the most beautiful of Corsica, is 20 minutes away in the sea from our center, it is the certain meeting with very big groupers and a particularly abundant fauna.

Organisation

During the season,4 rotations per day :
  • 8 to 10 a.m divers of level 2,3,4
  • 10 to 12 a.m divers of every levels
  • 2 to 4 p.m diving school
  • 4 to 6 p.m divers of level 2,3,4

The Training Courses

Each training courses comprises provision of complete equipment,  insurance an a slide of the mediterranean fauna and flora.

Discovery

  • 3 technical divings in the near space [ 1 in swimming pool, 1 departing from the shore, 1diving from the boat],
  • 1 theoretical lesson
  • provision of the book "Le Passeport pour l'Espace Bleu" ( "Passport for the blue space" in french)

At the end of the training course, the divers can take the level 1 certificate  [allow 200 FF of exam expenses], and make exploration divings 20 metres deep at the price of 180 FF a diving.
